Nestlé Milo conducted several activities to support children transition back to class-based learning, with their ‘Back to School’ Programme. As part of Milo’s ambition to help nurture a healthier generation, this programme helped educate children on the importance of following health guidelines while at school, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all.

Said Mohamed Ali, Category Marketing Manager at Nestlé: “The past couple of years have been challenging for everyone, particularly for children. As schools reopen with the gradual return to normalcy, we wanted to make this most anticipated return to school safe and educational for our children. As a brand that has always encouraged children to lead a healthier and active lifestyle, it was an honour to support the authorities in welcoming children back to school and nourish them to go further in their studies and sports, amidst the challenges of the new normal.”

The first event of the ‘Back to School’ Programme was held on 1 November 2021 at Kelimadala Kanishta Vidyalaya, under strict Health Ministry guidelines to ensure the safety of children and staff. The day started off with an interactive awareness programme conducted by Public Health Inspectors on the importance of doing their part to stay safe. Children were educated on tips to interact with their friends and teachers in the safest way possible and safety kits including masks and sanitizers were given to ensure their protection and wellbeing. Educational material related to stopping the spread of COVID-19 were distributed as well.

The event not only focussed on instilling good safety habits, but also encouraged children to stay active both at school and home. Highlighting the importance of physical activity to lead a healthy life, an exercise session was conducted by the school’s physical education teachers to help children become strong, energized, and ready to tackle the rest of the school year.

The brand will conduct similar sessions at more schools in the Western Province together with the Ministry of Education and Public Health Inspectors, in the weeks to come.
