A 100% local innovation! shaktigen

Nestlé Lanka proudly launched its first innovation for the year – Shaktigen; a nutritious, milk based drink fortified with glucose, energy releasing B vitamins and a delicious tangy fruit flavour. Shaktigen is the first ever milk based, glucose drink to be launched in Sri Lanka.

Said Ruwan Welikala, AVP – Ambient Dairy for Nestlé Lanka “We’re very excited to launch Shaktigen in Sri Lanka. It is the ideal ‘drink on the go’ for children to recharge themselves at any point of the day. As a beverage that not only tastes good but also caters to the nutrition requirements of young children, Shaktigen strongly reflects our company’s nutrition, health and wellness priorities.”

Made from 100% pure fresh milk that is collected daily from Nestlé’s network of over 18,000 local dairy farmers, Shaktigen is a truly local innovation built on strong consumer insights. Shaktigen benefits from Nestlé’s over 145 year global heritage in providing mothers with the best milk–based nutrition solutions for their children’s all round growth and development. Promising ‘a zip in every sip’, the product is priced at only LKR 25, making it one of the most affordable ready-to-drink beverages in the island.

Said Ganesan Ampalavanar, Managing Director of Nestlé Lanka PLC “As the world’s leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness Company, we aim to enhance the lives of our Sri Lankan consumers with nutritious and great tasting products that are affordable. We’re proud to note that Shaktigen is yet another testament to our commitment to ‘Creating Shared Value’ in our local communities; strengthening the trust our consumers have placed in us and contributing to further enhancing the livelihoods of our local dairy farmers. As a 100% local innovation, we have great aspirations for the product and look forward to seeing its success over the upcoming months.”
