Mr. Ganesan Ampalavanar, currently Managing Director of Nestlé Lanka PLC, will assume the position of Managing Director of Nestlé - Vietnam with effect from February 1, 2015.
Mr. Ampalavanar joined Nestlé in his home country of Malaysia as a Management Trainee in 1991. His career covered increasingly responsible roles in Marketing and Sales, culminating in his appointment as Sales Director in Malaysia in 2003. In March 2008, he moved to the South Asia Region as Head of Sales, a position he held until his appointment to the current role of Managing Director of Nestlé Lanka in January 2013. In Sri Lanka, Mr. Ampalavanar demonstrated his extensive commercial experience and leadership capabilities in delivering superior business results and working effectively with all stakeholders.
To succeed Mr. Ampalavanar, Ms. Shivani Hegde who is presently the Business Executive Manager – Food, India, will be appointed Managing Director for Sri Lanka, effective February 1, 2015. Ms. Hegde has a track record of consistent business results built on strong marketing and business capabilities and was instrumental in building the Maggi brand in India. This, combined with her extensive experience, stands her in good stead as she takes on her new Country Management role.
