As part of the Coconut Development Plan, Nestlé Lanka partnered with the Coconut Cultivation Board of Sri Lanka (CCB) to conduct a two-day regenerative agriculture training programme for coconut farmers. First launched in 2024, the initiative has now been implemented for three consecutive years, with the latest edition further expanding its reach and impact.

Held at the CCB's Coconut Development Training Centre in Lunuwila, this year's programme trained 25 coconut farmers from Nestlé's supply chain on the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices, helping farmers improve coconut yield while conserving natural resources such as soil and water.

Sharing his thoughts on the programme, Chairman of the Coconut Cultivation Board, Dr. Sunimal Jayakody said “It is a pleasure to have partnered with Nestlé for the third consecutive year on this meaningful initiative. By equipping coconut farmers with knowledge on regenerative agriculture, we help strengthen livelihoods while encouraging environmentally responsible farming practices. This programme provides an important platform for knowledge sharing, enabling farmers to improve cultivation methods, and build long-term sustainability within the coconut sector”.

“As the country's largest exporter of Coconut Milk Powder, we are proud to conduct this regenerative agriculture training programme for coconut farmers who are integral to our value chain. As part of the Nestlé Coconut Development Plan, this initiative reflects our long-standing commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka's coconut industry. Building on the success of the previous two editions implemented in partnership with the Coconut Cultivation Board, this year's programme continues to equip farmers with the knowledge and skills to adopt regenerative agriculture practices beneficial to the environment while improving coconut yield. Initiatives such as this demonstrate how meaningful partnerships can create shared value for farmers and the environment” said Mr. Manav Sahni, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé Lanka.
