KitKat named the ‘most influential chocolate bar of all time’ by Time magazine

KitKat has been named the ‘most influential chocolate bar of all time’ by Time magazine.

Nestlé acquired KitKat in 1988, some 50 years after the brand was first launched in the UK. Although the famous slogan ‘Have a break, have a KitKat’ dates from 1958, advertising campaigns associating KitKat with the idea of enjoying some time out began much earlier, in 1937.

Today KitKat is one of the world’s top three chocolate brands by sales and is sold in more than 100 countries. More than 600 KitKat fingers are consumed per second worldwide. The brand’s iconic status was confirmed in 2013, when Google created an Internet sensation by naming the latest version of its Android operating system ‘Android KitKat’.
