Local innovation news

Accelerating our focus on homegrown innovation, we have joined hands with four universities – University of Kelaniya, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, University of Colombo and University of Moratuwa – to launch an innovation challenge for students. Close to 200 university students will submit their ideas for nutritious products that use local ingredients, and initiatives that can enhance our environmental sustainability.

We have signed a MoU with Hatch to develop open innovation solutions for products that are sustainable, and which use local ingredients to meet local nutritional needs. Together with Hatch, we will work with local start-ups, entrepreneurs, and our own employees to shape disruptive innovation, with the goal of bringing ground-breaking ideas on nutrition and sustainability to market more quickly.

Introducing Maggi Papare Kottu, a mouth-watering and tongue-tingling noodle made using onion, garlic, chilli and pepper. It is Maggi’s first broad noodle, offering the same mouthfeel as kottu. Enriched with calcium and containing no artificial flavours or colours, Maggi Papare Kottu is the ideal convenient light meal.

Nangrow HMO is our new and improved milk formula for children aged 1 to 5 years. Whilst Nangrow 3 HMO is designed for 1-3 year old children, Nangrow 4 HMO is made for 3-5 year old children. The products contain an optimised protein blend that helps to supply the right amount of protein which supports a baby’s normal growth without overloading immature organs.
