The Nestlé Lanka Management Trainee (MT) Programme has over the years, played a fundamental role in empowering aspiring, talented, high calibre graduates discover their true potential and succeed in their careers. Upon receiving a comprehensive training in all functions of the business, the trainees become fully-fledged individuals geared to drive the company to continue its journey of success.

The Management Trainee Programme which commenced on 01 April 2012 was successfully completed exactly a year later with the Management Trainees receiving permanent positions within the organization.

Neluka WikramanayakeMs Neluka Wikramanayake shared her thoughts on her experience of the Nestlé Lanka Management Trainee Programme.

“I joined the Management Trainee Programme at Nestlé Lanka on the 1st of April 2012. The opportunities to develop myself as a true marketer, whilst building my leadership skills formed the crux of my decision to join the programme.

The one year MT program is structured in a fashion where one is exposed to every facet of the business, giving you the opportunity to develop a holistic view of the entire operation. Nestlé practices on-the-job training and as a result you learn by doing. For each of my attachments in various departments, I have taken up responsibilities and projects which contributed to the development of the business.

trainingI believe that I have also been able to contribute by bringing in a new viewpoint to the business through innovative ideas. Nestlé is the kind of company that gives you opportunities to express and materialize these ideas. As a result, the recognition I have received for my contribution has helped boost my morale and increase my drive for success and continuous improvement.

The support I have got so far from my mentor, the Nestlé Buddy system, peers and senior colleagues has been tremendous. Nestlé is undoubtedly committed to my development and has constantly given me feedback on my performance which has helped me develop the leadership and functional capabilities required to complete the programme as a high performing individual. Joining the programme has opened my eyes to a world of work I only dreamed of before. It has helped me add value to the organization and convinced me that Nestlé Lanka is truly a great place to work in.”
