Milo, Nestlé’s popular chocolate malt beverage, in association with the Ministry of Sports and the Galle District Sports Council held the Milo Cricket Academy; a special coaching camp for budding young cricketers to develop their batting skills and increase levels of competency in Sri Lanka’s favourite sport.

A programme endorsed by Milo brand ambassador and Captain of the Sri Lankan national team Angelo Mathews, the coaching camp was kicked off in the Galle district at the Galle Municipal Council grounds with the participation of over one thousand students. With students from 54 schools in attendance, a qualified bank of coaches that included six Cricket Board certified coaches and coaches from 32 schools used the workshop to give detailed lessons on executing the perfect cricket stroke. Each participant also received essential cricketing gear to help further develop the sport in their respective schools.
