Nestlé Lanka was awarded Silver by Sri Lanka’s Minister of Environment, Honourable Anura P. Yapa at the National Green Awards 2011, recognising the company’s world-class initiatives to conserve the environment at the state-of-the-art Kurunegala factory. A first time applicant for the awards in 2011, Nestlé was the only Food and Beverage manufacturer in Sri Lanka to be honoured at the country’s main environmental awards event.

The National Green Awards is Sri Lanka’s premier environmental award.

It is organized by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) of Sri Lanka to recognize and create a consciousness amongst consumer and producer regarding the importance of being ‘green’, with a view to making ‘greenness’ a sought after brand attribute.
